What it’s NOT:
- A Financial Coach is not a Financial Counselor or Financial Advisor; although some Counselors and Financial Advisors may also choose to be Financial Coaches.
- A Financial Coach does not offer explicit investment advice (Financial Planners/Advisors do)…
- While a Coach may suggest that you focus an area of your finances on investing, they are not allowed to suggest specific investment vehicles or securities.
- While a Coach may suggest that you focus an area of your finances on investing, they are not allowed to suggest specific investment vehicles or securities.
- A Financial Coach does not offer relationship counseling: I know this one seems like a no-brainer… but a Coach cannot be your marriage counselor.
- At times a Financial Coach that focuses on behaviors with money may need to dig deeper to uncover the relationship you have with money. Sometimes this means understanding what your home life was like, but almost never will that require him/her to dig into the health of your relationship with your partner. (Financial Counselors tend to focus on areas of Crisis and Relationships and how that affects finances.)
What Financial Coaching Is:
A Financial Coach teaches clients how to turn complex, even overwhelming, financial circumstances into step-by-step solutions. Some are full time while others may still hold a day job. They work with clients to rework, rethink, and redirect their cash-flow to correct bad money habits, save for the unexpected, and finally start making progress.
Each and every Coach is different. Each has their own years of service and varying fields of expertise. For instance, one may have had a career as an Insurance Broker, CPA, or Loan Officer… still others come from backgrounds as Mechanics, School Teachers, and even Multi-Million Dollar Tech Companies (Coaches you know who we’re referring to with that last one!).
Regardless of tenure or accolades, one thing is consistent among Financial Coaches. They have the genuine God-given desire to help those who are hurting, to teach those who need financial direction, and to change the lives and futures of the people they encounter.
Should I Get Financial Coaching???
It is not an admission of failure to say that you need help or want advice. You just need someone in your corner, looking out for your best interest who has the know-how and tools to get you to the next level:
- Are you struggling to make headway on your financial goals?
- Keep getting pushed back with every wave that life throws at you?
- Have you been fed the same generic ideas about Credit Building only to find yourself still stuck unable to get approved (employment, better insurance, mortgages, vehicles…)
- Do you find yourself repeating the same Wake-Up-Go-To-Work cycle with no change or hope of leaving the Rat Race?
- Are you sick and tired of being pushed into or sold onto something rather than having someone telling you the truth?
Perhaps the greatest question of all….
“Are you really ready for change?”
W.E. mean it… the change starts with you. Financial Coaching and Wealth Esteem can teach you WHAT you need to do to change your financial life, but only you can choose that the WHY behind the WHAT is enough for you to put that knowledge into practice. You have to go out there, take control of life and your finances, be intentional, and then… only then can we reach those goals together!
